Mat Morgan is the founder of ShoutAbout, a free tool for news sites and blogs that takes advantage of the media spotlight to empower non-profits, campaigns and movements. After reading news or commentary, anyone may add, vote on or follow a link to do something constructive. Sites like PBS NewsHour have used ShoutAbout to drive reader engagement, encourage sharing, and measure the social value of their news. Mat is currently on a leave of absence from the Harvard Kennedy School. In the past, he has served as a policy adviser to former Somali Prime Minister Mohamed Abdullahi Farmajo; worked as a spokesperson for American Red Cross responses and programs in Latin America and the Caribbean; and produced several "Band Together" benefit albums for national charities.
