About

Background

Launched in 2006, MediaShift has become the premier destination for insight and analysis at the intersection of media and technology. The MediaShift network includes the sites MediaShift, EducationShift and MetricShift, as well as workshops and weekend hackathons, email newsletters, a weekly podcast, DigitalEd online trainings and the MediaShift Studio.

MediaShift tells stories of how the shifting media landscape is changing the way we get our news and information. MediaShift correspondents explain how traditional media such as newspapers, magazines, radio, TV, music and movies are dealing with digital disruption and adapting their business models for a more mobile, networked world.

Note: The MediaShift website, newsletters and podcast are currently on hiatus as we consider a sale to a journalism school, association or media company.

MediaShift Studio

MediaShift has been producing high quality online content, from in-depth stories to video to audio and beyond. Our global network of contributors has expertise in writing, editing, social media, content marketing, podcast and video production and more. MediaShift Studio is our offering to help provide content to outside companies and publishers. Learn more about the MediaShift Studio.

MediaShift Events

MediaShift’s live events bring people together so they can socialize, learn and deepen connections. We started by offering networking mixers associated with existing conferences such as ONA and ISOJ, and have built onto that with one-day Collab/Space entrepreneurial workshops and weekend Hackathons. Participants include technologists, journalists, producers, marketers, advertisers, executives, educators, students and thought-leaders. They come from academia, established companies, startups, non-profits, public media and elsewhere. MediaShift also offers event production services, and we have helped produce events for groups such as the Poynter Institute and Digital Content Next. Learn more about MediaShift Events.

DigitalEd Trainings

Since 2015, MediaShift has provided online trainings for mid-career professionals, academics and students, using the BigMarker platform. Topics include digital skills such as Facebook Live, Snapchat, podcasting and more. Archived trainings cost $19 and we also have free sponsored online panels. Check out our DigitalEd trainings.

Sponsoring MediaShift

Through sponsorship on MediaShift and its associated properties, such as EducationShift, MetricShift, weekly podcasts, events and DigitalEd webinars, sponsors reach a highly engaged audience of media professionals, including journalists, advertisers, educators and influencers deeply interested in media and technology. Sponsors also associate their brands with one of the leading voices in digital media, MediaShift, with the credibility and trust that come with it. Learn more about MediaShift Sponsorships.
