As the news engagement producer for KQED, Ian Hill has developed and implemented innovative strategies that give San Francisco Bay Area residents a voice in local news coverage. He also has been recognized as a leader in building collaborative relationships among media organizations. In 2012 Ian worked with other Bay Area news outlets to organize a series of popular "open newsrooms" that brought reporters and residents together to discuss coverage of the community. He also collaborated with several West Coast public media organizations to conduct listening tours of college campuses in advance of the presidential election. Ian has been a professional journalist for nearly 15 years, covering beats ranging from politics to crime to music and entertainment at newspapers in New York state, Ohio and California.
