    2015 National Native Media Conference
    July 9-12, 2015

    Join the Native American Journalists Association, Native Public Media, and representatives from the most prominent Native media organizations in the country. Native journalists, broadcasters, producers, filmmakers, and professionals from tribal, independent, and mainstream media across the U.S. will convene to participate in hands-on sessions focused on improving reporting and delivering news using the latest innovations in the industry.

    Hacking Journalism: Data Science in the Newsroom

    There is so much opportunity for new products in the media and publishing space, but figuring out what will succeed is no easy task. This event brings together journalists, data scientists, developers and designers to build prototypes exploring possibilities in news media.

    How can established media and tech companies foster innovation from within large organizations? That will be the focus of our second annual Collab/Space New York workshop, produced by PBS MediaShift, sponsored by the Donald W. Reynolds Journalism Institute, and hosted by the Ford Foundation.

    July 15-16, 2015
    Montclair State University, New Jersey
    The two-day event will focus on a range of timely and hotly debated topics related to the interaction between community and media. The conference starts with a town hall event discussing redevelopment in Newark, with the following day focusing on creating dialogue between media and community, utilizing civic engagement in news reporting and navigating the changing landscape of journalism.
