Education Curator
MediaShift is looking for an Education Curator who will help shape our new revamped EducationShift section, bringing in new contributors, writing pieces and sparking discussion on Twitter chats at #edshift, a Facebook page and during in-person events. The main responsibility will include editing and writing for the EducationShift section, making sure we have at least one original story per week. Other responsibilities include running a bi-weekly Twitter chat at #edshift, updating the dedicated Facebook page and sparking conversations online where journalism educators congregate. This is a contract job that you can do from your own home or office.
Hours: About 40 hours per month
Job Requirements
> 3 years of experience teaching, working or learning in a journalism or communication school setting
> Excellent curation, communication, writing and community-building skills
> Knowledge of the state of current journalism education, especially innovative projects
> Knowledge of and contacts at various American and global journalism and communication schools
> Experience building and sparking discussions on social media
