This Twitter chat will feature data scientist and media researcher Sonya Song from Chartbeat

For years, media companies have been obsessed with “eyeballs” online, and the click and the page view were the all-important metrics. But today, many media companies are turning to new metrics to track attention and deeper interest in articles on their sites.

In our #MetricShift chat on Friday, March 11, starting at 1 p.m. ET / 12 p.m CT / 10 a.m. PT, we’ll talk about how tools like Chartbeat are changing how media companies view the audience on their site.

The chat, which you can find by searching for #MetricShift on Twitter, will be moderated by special guest Sonya Song, media researcher and data scientist at Chartbeat. Guests will also include Rob Gates, audience and metrics analyst for the Louisville , and more to come.
