With the U.S. midterm elections still fresh on people’s minds, the timing couldn’t have been better for PBS MediaShift to produce a workshop focused on open data and government accountability on Nov. 6. Sponsored by the Donald W. Reynolds Journalism Institute at the University of Missouri and hosted by the Washington Post, the all-day workshop included collaborative improv exercises and tips from a diverse group of participants — entrepreneurs, journalists, technologists, designers, government workers and other major players in the tech and media field. Plus, there were presentations from eight innovative data projects.
