Futures Lab Update #58: Two New Tools For Newsrooms On the Go

A startup called Paladin Innovators has created a single device for live streaming, switching, recording and editing that fits into a backpack and can connect to multiple video sources including traditional cameras, Google Glass and iPhones.

This week we introduce a new app for connecting reporters with stories, and we learn about a mobile video studio that fits into a backpack.

PART 1: Newstracker

A new smartphone app and web-based system called Newstracker, built by a company called Interapt, was designed to help newsrooms connect their teams in the field with story assignments and to guide the reporters to where the news is happening. We learn how it works from Interapt Chief Executive Officer Ankur Gopal and Senior Director of Business Development Aaron Rosenberg.
