RJI Futures Lab Update #108: Video Tools Multipop and Bcast

This week we explore an online tool for adding interactivity to video, and another platform for streaming live video from smartphones.

PART 1: Interactive video with Multipop

Rather than overlaying additional content on top of a video, a start-up called Multipop offers an interface for adding polls, links and other material alongside a video, with elements timed to appear at specific moments. Chief Executive Officer Josh Lamb explains how the result can change a viewer’s experience.

PART 2: Streaming video via Bcast

Bcast is a live-streaming platform that enables video to go directly from a smartphone to other mobile devices, Internet TVs and the Web. We find out from founder and Chief Executive Officer Michael Hodge how it works and how it differs from other mobile streaming platforms.
