EdShift explores media trust, ethics and diversity issues after protests at University of Missouri. Click the series logo for the full set of posts.

In our next #EdShift chat, we’ll discuss lessons learned from those covering, watching and teaching about the protests earlier this month at the University of Missouri. The chat will take place at 1 p.m. Eastern time/Noon Central/10 a.m. Pacific time, on Tuesday, Dec. 1. The protests about diversity on campus prompted the resignation of two top administrators, but the coverage and disagreement over journalists’ access to the protesters opened new questions about how to cover and teach about diversity issues on college campuses.

The chat, which you can find by searching for the #EdShift Twitter hashtag, will be moderated by Stacy Forster of the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Guests will include Sarah Glover, president of the National Association of Black Journalists; Sue Robinson of the University of Wisconsin-Madison; Tracy Everbach and Meredith Clark of the University of North Texas; Brett G. Johnson of the University of Missouri, Katherine Krueger of Talking Points Memo and more.

Learn more by reading the EdShift special series about what happened at Missouri and what journalists and journalism educators took away from the events.

Here is a Storify compilation of the chat (it can also be viewed at this link).
