Even as we’ve looked for signs of renewed agency e-book pricing impacting best-selling e-books (and found few), and remarked on the continued power of media tie-ins to shape the rankings, the real story is a rather old one: the ongoing dominance of the world’s largest trade publisher, Penguin Random House.

During the last holiday season, Penguin Random House titles accounted for just over half the E-book Best-Seller List, or thirteen titles.

This week there are sixteen of them, including “The Girl on the Train,” now in its fifth week at No. 1. In fact, six of the Penguin Random House titles on this week’s list haven’t budged from their spots on last week’s.

The average price of a bestseller ticks up a few cents again, to $7.48 from $7.21.

E-book bestsellers from the week ending 2/28:

  1. “The Girl on the Train: A Novel,” Paula Hawkins, Penguin Random House, $8.99
  2. “Fifty Shades Freed (Fifty Shades of Grey Trilogy Book 3),” E.L. James, Penguin Random House, $4.99
  3. “Gone Girl: A Novel,” Gillian Flynn, Penguin Random House, $4.00
  4. “American Sniper: The Autobiography of the Most Lethal Sniper in U.S. Military History,” Chris Kyle, Scott McEwen and Jim DeFelice, HarperCollins, $4.00
  5. “Big Little Lies,” Liane Moriarty, Penguin Random House, $3.99
  6. “The Nightingale,” Kristin Hannah, Macmillan, $12.99
  7. “All the Light We Cannot See: A Novel,” Anthony Doerr, Simon & Schuster, $11.99
  8. “Wild: From Lost to Found on the Pacific Crest Trail,” Cheryl Strayed, Penguin Random House, $4.40
