MediaShift is looking for a sponsorship manager who will help sell sponsorships for MediaShift, EducationShift, Idea Lab and our associated events and products through outreach to potential clients. The primary responsibility will be finding leads, contacting possible sponsors, and working with the executive editor to coordinate sales opportunities. Other responsibilities include tracking sales, invoicing and fulfilling sponsorships. This is a contract job that you can do from your own home or office. We prefer that you are a full-time freelancer, and don’t have a current full time job.
Hours: 70 hours per month
> 2 years of sales or marketing experience with an online publication with 100,000 unique visitors/month or more. However, we will consider candidates with little sales experience but are well networked in the digital media and journalism education space.
> Excellent communication skills
> Knowledge of the media business, especially new forms of journalism and digital media, and journalism education.
> Contacts within the digital media, journalism and technology, and journalism education fields.
> BONUS: Experience or ideas on innovative forms of sponsorships.
