    Computer-Assisted Reporting Boot Camp

    Mapping Boot Camp
    Learn how to uncover interesting news stories by mapping data with geographic information system (GIS) software. IRE and NICAR will conduct this hands-on training using ArcGIS. Participants should have basic knowledge in using relational database software such as Access or MySQL.     Drone Journalism Boot Camp
    With the FAA’s new drone rules coming, the first big hurdle newsrooms and journalism schools face is getting staffers past the required knowledge test to fly legally. In a weekend, we’ll teach you about the topics covered by the FAA’s new test, from how to read an airspace map to how to read an aviation weather report. You’ll learn about airport operations, aeronautical decision making and safe operations. You’ll also learn the new FAA rules, called Part 107, inside and out.

    DigitalEd: How to Host Great Live Events
