APRIL 2015 DEADLINES
Vada and Col. Barney Oldfield National Security Reporting Fellowship
This fellowship is awarded to a reporter or producer in radio or television news engaged covering national defense and security. In addition to the $1,000 award, winners are invited to attend the Excellence in Journalism conference.

MAY 2015 DEADLINES
IWMF Elizabeth Neuffer Fellowship
This fellowship provides an academic and professional opportunity for women journalists who focus on human rights and social justice to advance their reporting skills. The next IWMF Neuffer Fellowship runs from September 2015 to March 2016. The 2015/16 Fellow will complete research and coursework at MIT’s Center for International Studies and internships with media outlets including The Boston Globe and The New York Times. The flexible structure of the program will provide the fellow with opportunities to pursue academic research and hone her reporting skills.

Emerging Photographer Fund 2015
Sponsored by Burn Magazine, a total of $15,000 is offered to support the continuation of a photographer’s personal project. This body of work may be of either journalistic mission or purely personal artistic imperatives.

International Reporting Project Fellowships
The International Reporting Project (IRP) is now accepting applications for reporting fellowships on nuclear security, religion and health/development. These fellowships are intended to provide in-depth coverage of important, under-covered international issues.
Deadline: May 11, 2015, for nuclear security, rolling deadlines for religion and health/development.
Foreign Policy Fellowship
The year-long fellowship offers young reporters the chance to work closely with seasoned writers and editors who focus on international news: covering major events, analyzing policy developments and telling compelling human stories from around the world. Fellows regularly research and write their own articles and play a key role in the production of both web and print content. The position is ideal for journalists with about 1-2 years of experience, including those who have recently graduated from journalism school.

The McGraw Fellowship for Business Journalism
This non-residency fellowship provides experienced journalists with grants of up to $15,000 to produce deeply reported investigative or enterprise stories on critical topics related to U.S. business and the economy.

The Scripps Howard Foundation Semester in Washington Internship Program
This program brings two international students per year to Washington, D.C., to work at the Scripps Howard News Service for a semester. The internship is designed to give international students an opportunity to cover events in the U.S. capital, as well as to report and write feature stories for the Scripps Howard Foundation Wire. Stories written by Scripps Howard interns may be published in newspapers across the United States.

MJ Bear Fellowship
Through the Online News Association, the MJ Bear Fellowships identify and celebrate early-career digital journalists who have demonstrated that they deserve support for their efforts.
Applications for the 2015 MJ Bear Fellowships will open in June.
Douglas Tweedale Memorial Fellowship
This fellowship helps Latin American journalists improve their digital skills in specialty reporting in areas such as immigration, environment, science and technology or business and personal finance, through a three-week long program in the United States.

BuzzFeed Emerging Writers Fellowship
With the mission of diversifying the broader media landscape by investing in the next generation of necessary voices, BuzzFeed’s Emerging Writers Fellowship is designed to give writers of great promise the support, mentorship and experience necessary to take a transformative step forward in their careers.

Associated Press Global News Internship Program

This paid internship program is for students who are aspiring cross-format journalists and will contribute to AP’s text, video, photo and interactive reporting.
Kyoto Prize Journalism Fellowship
San Diego, CA
The Kyoto Prize Journalism Fellowship at Point Loma Nazarene University is an initiative to develop modern education in the sciences, philosophy, society and the arts.
National Geographic Photography Fellowship

The two-year fellowship allows photographers to share their visual expertise with diverse areas of the National Geographic Society and with the public, producing stories, sharing their storytelling knowledge with other explorers, and bringing the Society’s mission to illuminate, teach, and inspire the world at large.
Scripps Howard Foundation Multimedia Fellowship
Washington DC
This year-long fellowship allows post-graduates to create multimedia projects for the Scripps Howard Foundation Wire’s website as well as mentor undergraduate students.
World Press Institute Fellowship
Various locations
The fellowship is offered to 10 journalists from around the world and provides immersion into governance, politics, business, media, journalistic ethics and culture of the United States.
