The well-known power of media tie-ins to drive sales of best-selling e-books was on ample display in the second half of last year, and the phenomenon shows no signs of diminishing in the first few weeks of 2015.

“American Sniper” lands not one but two places on this week’s E-book Best-Seller List as the film adaptation starring Bradley Cooper plays in theaters now. The HarperCollins title snags the No. 1 spot at the same time that a memorial edition debuts on the list at No. 22.

As has happened before, e-books associated with a film or TV series comprise the majority of this week’s list. Thirteen titles within the top 25 are either themselves the subject of an adaptation or belong in a series that is.

The average price of a best-selling ebook inches upward after skittering up and down over the past few weeks, to $6.30 from $5.24 last week.

E-book best-sellers from the week ending 1/24:

  1. “American Sniper: The Autobiography of the Most Lethal Sniper in U.S. Military History,” Chris Kyle, Scott McEwen and Jim DeFelice, HarperCollins, $5.99
