James Patterson’s “Invisible” and J.K. Rowling’s “The Silkworm” (under her pen name Robert Galbraith) are ranked Nos. 4 and 5 this week and are both on the list for the first time. Both are titles that came out in late June and did not enjoy pre-order buying capabilities on Amazon, an important factor in determining best-sellers (though “Invisible” had a free preview of the first eight chapters available on Amazon since late April.)
Last week, “The Silkworm” failed to hit the bestseller list on its debut week, likely due to an inability to pre-order the title on Amazon.
Meanwhile, the average price of a bestselling e-book decreased this week to $6.99, down slightly from last week’s average of $7.37.
